Access to management and technical assistance is an important component of the success of new and growing businesses. The DBDC partners with key resources to provide such assistance.
Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University​​​​​​​​​
Counseling
Available on a one-on-one confidential basis. Discussions may include business plan development, feasibility studies, marketing plans, inventory control and financial analysis and requirements.
Training
Seminars and workshops to keep small business people informed of current practices and trends. Approximately 25 - 30 sessions are scheduled each year.
Procurement
This assistance helps businesses sell to the federal government. In addition to locating "matches" for goods and services, help is also provided in completing paperwork and navigating government regulations and specifications.
Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), Baton Rouge Chapter
Counseling
General counseling relating to problems of small businesses as well as specific advice, matching the company's needs with the wide range of practical experiences of individual SCORE members.
Training
SCORE conducts periodic seminars on how to start a business.

Technical Assistance
The DBDC can make available university and other resources to address very specific technical issues encountered by small businesses.
